If that doesn't solve the problem, you could pick up a cheap OBD2 scanner (~$10) and see if there are any faults logged by the system. You should also be able to check the car battery as well this way. Test each button on the FOB. Then test with Key. If you have the extra FOB or Key, try to lock your keys in the car.
